Touch Down

So I got really behind on my blogging I had planned on writting a little every day but the internet in the hotel really sucked! I will just give a quick recap. We landed in Alaska Saturday August 24th it was a loooong day of travel. Everything went pretty smooth I was actually at one point thinking to myself "now this is the way to travel" that is until the last three hours over Canadian air space and we had turbulance the whole way. It wasnt bad turbulance but bad enough for me! However when we got over Alaska and the clouds cleared it made the whole trip worth it. It had to be the most breathtaking peice of land I have ever seen! When we got all of our things arranged we decided we should look around and we ended up getting lost we were still on the whole feeling like its two hours later than it should be and the sun didnt start setting until about 10 so we were pretty zapped!

On Monday we went to the area we are going to live in its about 20 minutes away from Anchorage its called Eagle River and just so I can praise God here we found a house. We arent buying right away but we think this will be a great house to rent for a while. Rental housing is real scarce there because of all of the millitary that transfers in and out plus the owners are cool with our dogs!
With living arrangements set in place we got to play for the rest of the week. We went to the Alaska state fair and saw vegetables that are as big a humans! We went to the Kenai peninsula. We got to go on a Glacier cruise. We went to the Alaska wildlife habitat. And we ate way too much, the fish really is better there! It is amazing its beautiful and everyone is so nice I think its going to be a great place to live. I am still not looking forward to the winters however!
We got back in California on August 30th it was so good to see the kids when I got off the plane, although it was nice to have some time alone with Michael I ached for my kids to be with me. So now that we have this trip almost out of the way its time for me to move on to the next phase which is packing up and saying our goodbyes I am starting to get really emotional! I am excited about this move but I am also really sad.

Pics are bellow check em out! I have more but I think at this point it just is best if I post what Ive got.

Alaska here we come...

We just finished our first leg of our trip.Yesterday we drove 12 hours to Cali to drop off the kiddos with family. And in less than 12 hours I will be on a plane to see our new home! I am really nervous and supper excited it feels unreal like I am in a dream state. I mean really ALASKA! On our way to good ol Bako I looked over at my hubby and realized that I would follow this man to the end of the Earth .... well at least to the top!

We have lift off...

We finally know when we're headed out to find our new home! It was a long emotional week last week because every time we turned around things were changing but now there is a timeline( I work well with time lines). We leave Thursday afternoon to Bakersfield to drop off the kids and then Saturday we get on a plane and were off to Alaska. About61/2 hours we should have touchdown.I do not fly well so I am not looking forward to this part of our adventure especially since I have to fly on two prop planes( I heard those aren't so much fun). But Mike is being good to me allowing me to spend all of his money to get me through the dreaded flight with new toys and gadgets(thanks babe). We will be in Alaska for about a week and if all goes well we will come back knowing where we're going to be living. This is all really stressful trying to move my family to pretty much out of the country but not really, finding a house, finding a school, packing this house up, getting the house in Colorado ready to rent, tying up all of the other little loose ends that are involved in a move and the big one.......ALL OF THE FLYING..... but seriously the flying part is the most stressful for me! I need lots of prayer...pray for Mike too (he has to travel with me, in fact he probably needs more prayer).

The crazy life I am living

So many of you may know that we are about to embark on yet another adventure. Alaska will soon be the place we call home. We will be moved no later than the end of September and I am going CRAZY! So what do I do I decide I am going back to school and that I want to start training for a triathlon I know CRAZY. Actually I am really stoked about all of this and the reason I think school and training will be good is because it is dark for like 6 months in Alaska and I really like the daylight so I think this will help with fighting the winter blues! Will be keeping everyone posted.

So here I go.....

I am not a great writer but over this summer I was really inspired by some pretty exceptional books and I have decided I am going to become a decent writer even if it kills me and bores everyone else to tears!.This blog is going to be used mostly to keep everyone informed on our crazy life. And then my journal will be my tool for safe keeping all of my juicy demented details, you may say how could she have any of those after being married for so long, well wouldn't you like to know.So here I go...
